Edmonton Yoseikan Karate Club has been teaching Chito Ryu Karate in Edmonton since 1970. As a not-for-profit karate club, our focus is on empowering our students with self-defence skills, self-discipline, physical fitness, mental strength, respect, tradition, and a sense of community. Our goal is to not only pass on skills but to foster a family-like environment where students can grow and thrive.
We offer a variety of classes throughout the week, including kids and family-specific classes, all-age classes, and traditional Okinawan weapons classes. Our club is passionate about preserving the rich tradition of Chito Ryu Karate while teaching in a way that is empowering and community-driven.
In addition to regular classes, Edmonton Yoseikan Karate Club also hosts special events such as the Combined Bogu Kumite and Officials Clinic. This clinic, to be held on February 17, 2024, will feature instruction by Shihan Justin Rybie and Renshi Rupert Joshi. Participants will have the opportunity to practice Bogu Kumite and receive officials training, helping them to improve their skills and knowledge in karate.
For those interested in joining our club, we offer a range of membership options and training fees. From junior and family karate classes to adult classes and Ryukyu Kobujutsu classes, there is something for everyone at Edmonton Yoseikan Karate Club. Our annual fees vary for different levels of students, with special rates for regular club members and those interested in taking multiple classes.
