Established in 1995, it is one of the largest BMX clubs in Alberta and possibly in Canada, catering to members ranging in age from 5 to 55, with 90% under 16 years of age. The association is dedicated to promoting health and fitness while providing opportunities for families and youth. It also focuses on instilling self-confidence, sportsmanship, and respect in all members and visitors.
BMX racing is an individual and family-oriented sport organized into classes by gender, age groups, and skill levels. Riders progress from Novice to Intermediate and Expert levels by winning races. Age groups range from 5 years old to Cruiser class (24” wheel) for boys and girls, with riders competing at the same skill level in Cruiser class. Strider Racers under 5 years old use balance bikes, long sleeve pants, shirts, and approved bike helmets.
The club's practice and race schedule for the 2024 season includes various events such as alternate Monday Race Nights or Open Track, Novice, Intermediate, and Expert practices on Tuesdays, Race Nights on Wednesdays, and Open Track or Team Practice on Thursdays. Those interested in trying BMX can avail of a 1 Day Trial Pass to test the track before committing. The track also offers bikes, jerseys, race pants, and gloves for borrowing on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The association's track is located at 6850 88 St NW, with a mailing address at PO Box 4936 S. E. EDM, AB, T6E 5G8. It has a list of sponsors for the 2024 season, including TerraPro Access Matting & Earthworks Services and NACO Commercial Property Solutions.
