Edinburgh Schools Kayak Club (ESKC) is a top-tier canoe and kayak club dedicated to getting young people into paddle sports. Under the leadership of founder and chair Cynthia Berry, ESKC has been shaping future champions since 2011. The club offers training in canoe slalom and flatwater racing, providing serious pathways for aspiring athletes.
Based at Meggetland Community Sports Hub, right by the Union Canal, ESKC features a well-equipped clubhouse and boat storage. Winter doesn't slow them down either – they move to local pools for sessions on water skills and safety techniques.
ESKC runs regular training sessions, day trips, and pool practices during school terms, catering to all skill levels. They've built solid associations with other Scottish clubs, enabling exciting white water sessions and summer paddling adventures. Cynthia Berry, a seasoned coach with world championship bronze medals and a masters in Performance Coaching, leads the coaching team. Her extensive experience helps young paddlers excel.
Want to join or learn more? Reach out through their website, email, or catch them on Facebook and Instagram. ESKC is a registered charity, committed to promoting paddle sports among Edinburgh’s youth.
