Founded by an experienced belly dancer with 15 years of expertise, the school offers women-only classes aimed at teaching the basics of belly dance and exciting choreographies. The founder of Eastern Promise Belly Dance has trained with a wide range of talented belly dancers from around the world. Additionally, international dance artists like Ameera, Elis Pinheiro, Keti Sharif, Lorna of Cairo, Meena Gorgese, Zara Adel Rahman, Ozgen, Raheesha, Sahira, and the amazing Sadie of Denver have all contributed to the founder's exceptional dance repertoire.
Aside from teaching regular classes, Eastern Promise Belly Dance also offers workshops nationally. The school and its troupe have had the opportunity to perform at various events, including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, hen parties, theme nights, dinner parties, and festivals. The Eastern Promise Belly Dance Troupe has mesmerised audiences at numerous locations on the Isle of Wight, as well as mainland events. They have also collaborated with Raw Samba in carnivals both locally and nationally, showcasing their versatility and flair.
Eastern Promise Belly Dance Troupe was recognised for their outstanding talent in The Island Has Talent 2012, where they reached the finals. Judges described their performances as “sassy, sexy, spicy, jingly jangly, full of energy,” and praised them as “a crowd-pleasing act guaranteed to put a smile on your face. ” The troupe has become an inspiration to women of all ages, demonstrating the passion and empowerment that belly dancing can bring.
