The Lake Boga Yacht Club is proud to announce the return of its celebrated Annual Easter Regatta, a beloved tradition that has been a part of the club's history since 1937. Though the regatta had to take a hiatus during the Second World War, it has been held without fail every year since then.
In recent times, however, the regatta faced a formidable challenge. A severe drought caused the lake to completely dry up for nearly four long years. This unfortunate circumstance meant that the regatta had to be put on hold temporarily. Yet, even in the face of adversity, the spirit of the Lake Boga Yacht Club and its members remained unyielding.
Through determination and perseverance, the lake finally regained its full capacity in mid-2010, allowing our dedicated members to embark on their sailing journeys once more. And now, with the return of our beloved Easter Regatta, we invite sailing enthusiasts from far and wide to join us in this remarkable celebration.
The Easter Regatta at Lake Boga has always been a spectacular event, attracting over 250 magnificent yachts gliding gracefully across the shimmering waters. The sight alone is enough to take your breath away. Moreover, what sets Lake Boga apart is the opportunity it offers participants to camp near the verdant parklands surrounding our esteemed yacht club. It's an experience, unlike any other.
It's worth mentioning that our passionate club members don't limit themselves to the local scene. They venture across Australia, participating in regattas and national and state title events, consistently achieving remarkable success. Lake Boga Yacht Club has proudly hosted numerous national and state title events for a variety of yacht classes over the years, and with a more consistent water level, we are excited to continue doing so.
