Eastbourne Electric Car Club is an on-road radio-controlled car club located in Hailsham, New Zealand. The club is run by a dedicated group of enthusiast volunteers who are passionate about bringing the joy of racing radio-controlled cars to everyone. With a rich history dating back to the early 70s, the club continues to organise races almost every Wednesday throughout the year, as well as some Sundays.
The club exclusively focuses on electric-powered radio-controlled car racing and primarily conducts races outdoors, regardless of the weather condition. They do, however, host a few meetings indoors during winter. The club offers a variety of racing classes, including 1:10 Electric Touring Cars, 1:10 Electric Tamiya Trucks, 1:10 Electric Tamiya M-Chassis, 1:10 Electric MTC, 1:10 Formula One, and 1:12 LMP.
The club prides itself on providing top-notch racing venues for all levels of drivers. Their purpose-built tarmac on-road racetrack stretches approximately 150m long, and the UK's top drivers can complete a lap in under 14 seconds. Additionally, the club boasts floodlights, making it one of the few clubs in the UK with the ability to continue racing after sunset. This ensures that the fun never stops, regardless of the time of day.
For those who prefer racing indoors, the club offers an indoor carpet racing facility. This setup guarantees excellent grip and eliminates the challenges posed by wind and rain. With national quality drivers participating, it's a great option for those seeking a different racing experience.
The club welcomes a wide range of RC Race Cars, but the allowed classes may vary depending on the venue. However, even if a specific class is not listed, there is still a chance for individuals to practise with their RC cars.
One of the standout features of Eastbourne Electric Car Club is their commitment to constantly improving their facilities. Over the years, they have reinvested all membership renewals and entry fees into building one of the best RC Racing Venues in the UK. The club is BRCA affiliated and offers additional facilities such as a tuck shop, a full-service food chalet, live online results, live race screens, scoreboards, an undercover pit area, mains electric, an air compressor, and a toilet block.
For those interested in joining the club, the best course of action is to visit them during one of their race meetings. This provides an opportunity to meet with the racers, explore the facilities, and learn more about the club's ethos. The club's next race meeting will be held outdoors on Wednesday, 10th of January 2024.
For any inquiries or questions, individuals can reach out to the club through their contact email at info@eecc. Co. uk. Additionally, the club has an active presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, where enthusiasts can stay updated on upcoming events and engage with the community.
Eastbourne Electric Car Club is dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all RC car racing enthusiasts. With their state-of-the-art facilities, diverse racing classes, and passionate volunteers, the club offers an exciting and rewarding experience for racers of all skill levels.
