East Barnet Valley Bowls Club

Welcome to East Barnet Valley Bowls Club, a friendly and welcoming club located in Victoria Park, New Barnet. The club has been a part of the community since its founding in 1927 and is affiliated with the Finchley & North London Bowls Association, Bowls England, and Hertfordshire Bowls.

At East Barnet Valley Bowls Club, we play socially on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm, weather permitting, between the months of April and September. We also hold open days and taster sessions on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 12 noon, except on match days or in inclement weather. Additionally, during the colder months from October to April, we have short mat bowls in the clubhouse on alternative Monday afternoons and Thursday evenings.

Whether you're a seasoned bowler or new to the sport, we welcome anyone of all experience levels to give bowls a try. We provide training for newcomers, and you don't need to bring any equipment. Just come along to one of our open days, taster sessions, or short mat bowls sessions. If those times don't work for you, feel free to contact us through our website, and we may be able to arrange a different day for you to visit.

East Barnet Valley Bowls Club has a rich history of success in competitions, having won various championships over the years. In 1973 and 2005, we were victorious in The Prentice Cup, a mixed league organised by the Finchley & North London Bowls Association. We have also been runners-up in the Cheal Shield in 1987, 1993, and 2011. As a club, we are always open to new members who are looking to join our vibrant community.

In recent news, we have unfortunately had to cancel some matches due to damage caused by crows on our bowling green. The crows have been searching for the larvae of the Crane Fly, also known as Daddy Long Legs, and their actions have left our green in poor condition. We are actively working to repair the green, and we hope for a fresh start in the new year.
