Dwaynamics Boxing Gym, located in London, is an affiliated boxing club dedicated to raising champions through sport and mentorship. With a strong focus on fighting knife crime and gang culture, Dwaynamics aims to provide services that steer at-risk youth away from dangerous lifestyles and encourage them to see a brighter future.
Led by Dwayne Simpson, the founder of Dwaynamics Gym and recipient of numerous accolades, including the MBE, the Queens Golden Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service by Groups in the Community, and the Prime Minister Point of Light Awardee, Dwaynamics is committed to empowering vulnerable youth to turn pain into power through boxing and life skills coaching. They offer a range of sessions tailored to different age groups, including kids, adults, and female-only classes.
Situated in the heart of the community, Dwaynamics Gym is housed within the Loughborough Park Community Centre on Mooreland Road, SW9 8AU. Over the years, the gym has welcomed many young people who were in vulnerable states, struggling with issues such as anger management, self-harming, depression, fear, anxiety, low self-esteem, health problems, and trauma resulting from the challenges and consequences of violence, abuse, knife crime, and murders across London.
In addition to their boxing programmes, Dwaynamics has established several initiatives to support the community. One of these initiatives is the Dwaynamics Reach the Skye youth hub, designed to empower and engage with young people aged 8-18 in Lambeth. This safe space allows them to come together, socialise, and develop various skills amongst their peers and with staff members.
Dwaynamics Stay n Play Project is another initiative that offers parents and caregivers with children aged 0–4 years in Lambeth a fully equipped space within their Community Centre to engage in play with their children. Research shows that play provides children with valuable sensory, physical, and cognitive experiences, which contribute to their overall development.
Additionally, Dwaynamics operates the Soup and Support Feeding Project, which aims to alleviate hardship and hunger faced by many families due to the cost of living crisis. They provide hot meals in a calm and clean social environment on a daily basis.
