Dragons Kickboxing Club, located at Unit 21 Habergham Mill, Coal Clough Lane, Burnley, Lancs, BB11 5BS, is a respected kickboxing school and gym that trains individuals of all ages. The club is focused on developing self-defence skills and improving overall fitness in a safe and inclusive environment.
Steven Wong, the founder, started Dragons Kickboxing Club in 2013. His journey in martial arts began in 1999 with Judo at the Beach Judokwai Club in Blackburn. He then shifted to kickboxing, drawn by its practicality and fitness benefits. Steven earned his Blackbelt in Kickboxing in 2003 at the Blackburn Martial Arts and Kickboxing Club and became a qualified NVQ Martial Arts Coach in 2005. He also explored Kung Fu and Taekwondo, integrating their techniques into his own style.
After moving to Burnley in 2007, Steven began studying Wado Ryu Karate, competing in points fighting competitions with impressive results. His passion for kickboxing led him to establish Dragons Kickboxing Club to share his knowledge and help others achieve their martial arts goals. The club has grown steadily, attracting people from all walks of life who want to improve their fitness and self-defence skills.
In 2014, Steven travelled to Thailand to train in Muay Thai and completed an Insanity Instructor course, joining the Insanity Pro Team. His dedication earned him a 2nd Dan black belt in kickboxing in October 2016. In 2018, the club moved to a larger facility with state-of-the-art equipment. The club’s commitment to excellence was recognised in 2023 when Dragons Kickboxing Club won Club of the Year, and Steven was honoured as Coach of the Year.

The club’s instructors provide expert guidance with a strong emphasis on safety and well-being, backed by a safeguarding policy to protect all members.
