At Dragonhead, tactics and strategy play a crucial role in fencing. Often compared to chess, fencing requires fencers to out-think their adversaries under pressure, mislead and deceive opponents to claim victory, and hone their observational skills to gain tactical information.
To further enhance performance, Dragonhead offers performance training. This type of training uses scenario- and problem-based practise to develop technical, tactical, and strategic capabilities. Squad training is used to create opportunities to workshop specific skills and strategies against a range of opponents. By putting techniques into practise with restricted rules, fencers can experience more focused improvement and enhance the value of other training sessions.
Dragonhead Fencing Club also offers a youth group for ages 8-12, located in Hollingbury, Brighton & Hove. This provides younger fencers with a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow.
