About
We are a traditional Aikido dojo located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, dedicated to promoting the principles and techniques of this beautiful martial art. Our dojo is affiliated with the Canadian Aikido Association and follows the grading system set by the Hombu Dojo in Japan.
Our classes cater to students of all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. We focus on fundamental movements, such as falling and footwork, before progressing to more advanced techniques against grabs and strikes. Aikido is not just a physical practice, but a way to cultivate the mind, body, and spirit through discipline and dedication.
Our chief instructor, Tony Hind Shihan, holds a 7th Dan ranking and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our dojo. He leads our classes with passion and dedication, ensuring that each student receives individual attention and guidance to progress in their Aikido journey.
The winter semester is starting soon, so be sure to register early to secure your spot in our classes. We are located at the West End Community Centre on Denman Street, making it convenient for students from all over Vancouver to access our dojo. Join us at Downtown Vancouver Aikikai and experience the beauty and power of Aikido.
