At Down Town Dance Academy, classes are scheduled on Thursdays, with different age groups and skill levels catered to. Juniors, aged approximately 5–8 years, attend a 50-minute class starting at 4:30pm. Intermediates, aged approximately 9–15 years, enjoy a 1 hour and 30-minute class starting at 5pm. Seniors, aged 16 and above, participate in a 1 hour and 30-minute class starting at 6:30pm.
Classes are a mix of dance styles, providing a well-rounded dance education for students.
In terms of fees, Down Town Dance Academy offers competitive prices for their classes. Juniors pay $160 per term for their 50-minute class, while intermediates and seniors pay $220 per term for their 1 hour and 30-minute class.
Uniform requirements at Down Town Dance Academy ensure that students can move comfortably and showcase their skills. Students are required to wear appropriate dance clothing and are given the option to purchase hoodies, jumpers, and tops with the academy's logo. Black tap shoes and black jazz shoes are a requirement for all age groups and can be purchased from Kids on Broadway in Reservoir. Second-hand shoes are also available for sale, or students are free to find their own suitable second-hand options.
Tan shoes can be painted black for performances.
Lastly, in preparation for the end-of-year show, students are required to purchase and keep costumes. The cost for costumes is $160 per student, paid in instalments of $40 per term. These costumes are custom-made by Miss Naomi Barr, using high-quality fabrics, ensuring that students look their best on stage.
