Doveton Football/Netball Club

Inclusive and respectful environment for all individuals involved in the club, regardless of their race or religion. The club recognises the importance of diversity and aims to foster a sense of belonging for everyone.

Section 2 Policy Statement 1. The Doveton Football Club will not tolerate any form of racial or religious discrimination, harassment, or vilification. All members, players, coaches, officials, and supporters are expected to adhere to this policy.

2. The club will take appropriate action to address any incidences of racial or religious discrimination, including disciplinary measures if necessary. This may include education, counselling, or, in severe cases, suspension or expulsion from the club.

3. The club will promote a culture of respect, acceptance, and understanding towards individuals of different races and religions. This includes encouraging dialogue and active participation in activities that promote diversity and inclusivity.

4. Any individual who believes they have been subjected to racial or religious discrimination within the club is encouraged to report the incident to the club's designated Complaints Officer. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly and impartially.

Section 3 Implementation 1. The Doveton Football Club will ensure that this policy is communicated to all members, players, coaches, officials, and supporters. It will be included in the club's code of conduct, displayed prominently on the club's website and social media platforms, and discussed during club meetings.

2. The club will provide training and education programmes to increase awareness and understanding of racial and religious diversity issues. This may include cultural competency workshops, guest speakers, or community engagement activities.

3. The club will actively seek opportunities to collaborate with community organisations, religious groups, and multicultural associations to promote inclusivity and celebrate diversity.

Section 4 Review and Evaluation 1. The Doveton Football Club will regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of this policy to ensure its ongoing relevance and alignment with best practises in promoting racial and religious tolerance.

2. Any updates or revisions to this policy will be communicated to all members, players, coaches, officials, and supporters in a timely manner.
