Doreen Bissett School of Dance

Doreen Bissett wants to share a bit about the Doreen Bissett School of Dance (DBSD) with the sports community. DBSD, firmly rooted in Transcona, Winnipeg, has been a cornerstone for dance since 1966. With over 50 years of history, they've been dedicated to providing quality dance instruction across a variety of disciplines like Acro, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Preschool Programs, and Musical Theatre. The school welcomes dancers of all ages and skill levels.

Doreen's mission at DBSD has always been to make sure every dancer feels valued and receives a solid dance education. Whether dancers are there for fun or aiming to go professional, the focus is on helping them realize their potential and chase their dreams. The instructors at DBSD are committed to offering personalized guidance, ensuring each dancer can reach their goals.

Being part of the Treaty One territory, home to the Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene people, and the homeland of the Metis Nation, DBSD takes pride in sharing their love of dance here. Doreen and her team are dedicated to healing and reconciliation, and they encourage the community to keep them accountable in this important work.

Doreen believes that strong communication and parental involvement are key to a dancer's success. She emphasizes the importance of open dialogue and invites parents to connect with the school for any questions or concerns. To make things easier, payments can be done via e-transfer when the studio is closed.
