Donovans Academy, located in Dagenham, is a contemporary dance club that is part of the renowned Donovans Stage School. Founded in 1996 by Maria and Michelle, this thriving community dance and performance school offers a wide range of classes in various disciplines such as Modern, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Acting, Musical Theatre, Street, and, of course, Contemporary dance.
The success of Donovans Stage School is evident in the accomplishments of its students. With a 100% pass rate in their examinations and numerous wins in dance competitions, this club has truly made a name for itself. The talented dancers have had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues including Disneyland Paris, London Palladium, Her Majesty Theatre, and The 02.

Leading the way at Donovans Academy is Sarah Dunn, the current principal and the daughter/niece of the founders. As a qualified teacher with a degree in Musical Theatre, Sarah is passionate about expanding Donovans into an academy that encompasses all areas of performing arts. In 2014, a second branch of the school was opened in Colchester, and Sarah continues to teach in both locations. Her expertise in choreography has led her to work on music videos, musicals, and various events. Additionally, Sarah teaches at Colchester Institute and the BA Hons Musical Theatre Degree program at UCC.
