The Division 1 Nationals InterVarsity Hockey event is a fantastic opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills and compete against other universities in Australia. Melbourne University Hockey Club has a rich history at this event, with both men's and women's teams securing titles in the past. The competition is fierce, but the rewards are worth it - especially the prestigious Sports Blue award for outstanding performances.
For those interested in participating, the cost is typically around $800, which covers registration, accommodation, transport pass, and uniform. Keep in mind that you'll need to make your own travel arrangements to and from Canberra, the host city. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in at least one subject at the university in Semester 2. Don't worry if you're not a member of the Hockey Club - all students are welcome to represent Melbourne Uni in this intervarsity competition.
