Diveline Scuba Centre, a Scuba Diving club in Frankston, invites all marine enthusiasts to join their Marine Education Program happening during the September School Holidays. This program is designed for aspiring marine biologists who have a keen interest in marine biology and ocean conservation.
Participants, aged 10 years and older, who hold either the Open Water Scuba Diving Certification or snorkelling experience, will have the incredible opportunity to encounter various marine and freshwater species. They will also engage in environmental activities and contribute as citizen scientists, making a positive impact on the marine ecosystem. If you don't have the required qualifications, don't worry! Just get in touch with the shop for more information.
The program runs for 6 days, and you have the flexibility to choose individual days to join at a cost of $100 per day. Or, if you're up for the full experience, you can sign up for the entire 6-day program for $500. Renting gear is also an option, available at half the usual price. And for those craving more underwater adventures, additional diving days can be added to the program.
During the program, participants can also opt to complete the PADI underwater naturalist and fish identification diver courses for an additional $100 each. These optional courses will enhance your understanding of underwater ecosystems and improve your ability to identify marine species.
The Marine Education Program is offered in two convenient formats. The School Holiday Program runs for 6 days, taking place on Mondays and Wednesdays over a two-week period. Alternatively, you can decide the Part-Time Courses that span four weeks. These courses include Teams Meetings on Tuesday nights and practical sessions on Sundays.
Not only will participants gain knowledge and have fun, but they will also have the chance to win exciting prizes! Prizes up for grabs include a recently serviced BCD Oceanic Excursion, a Regulator Set FDX10 / EOS Alpha 9 Occy and air gauge, an Oceanic Geo 2 computer, and a Go Pro 6 complete with filters and light. The second prize is a recently serviced VT4 wrist Computer with a Transmitter. Simply attend the Marine Science Program in September to earn tickets for the raffle. For additional chances to win, participate in extra dive days on Saturdays throughout September.
The program covers both theory and practical sessions to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. Participants will delve into different phylums, identify species found in Victorian waters, create an Aquatic Herbarium, explore the fascinating world of freshwater aquatic life, and learn how to contribute as citizen scientists.
