Fancy a game of bowls? Why not pop down to Didcot Bowls Club, right in the heart of Didcot, Oxfordshire. Founded in 1969, this friendly club has an impressive clubhouse and top-notch facilities, perfect for everyone from seasoned players to newbies wanting to give lawn bowls a try.
They took over their well-kept bowling green in 1972 and have been looking after it ever since, ensuring it's one of the best around. In 1997, thanks to a big Lottery grant and some generous member loans, they built a shiny new clubhouse, making the whole experience even better.
Didcot Bowls Club loves getting involved with the local community. They've even teamed up with a local Junior school to offer some fun bowling sessions twice a week. They made a bit of history by appointing a Youth Officer to encourage young players too.
With over 100 members, from teens to folks in their nineties, Didcot Bowls Club is all about diversity and inclusion. Whether you’re an old hand or a complete beginner, they’ve got coaching to get you up to speed. Just remember to wear flat-soled shoes to keep that lovely green in top shape – they’ve got spares if you need them, and bowls too!
