Desert Flame Belly Dance – Alexandra is the Central Coast's premier school of belly dance in Toukley, Australia. Founded and led by the passionate and experienced teacher Sandra, also known as Alexandra, the school offers a variety of classes for beginners and experienced dancers.

The classes are held at the Toukley Library Community Hall, conveniently located at the corner of Main Rd and Victoria Ave. The spacious hall provides a comfortable and inviting environment for students to learn and express themselves through the ancient art form of belly dance.

The Egyptian Dance class, taught by Alexandra, focuses on basic Egyptian style bellydance, ranging from folkloric to cabaret styles. The class encourages women to connect with their bodies, express movement, and embrace different ways of moving. It is a personal, vigorous, and fun experience suitable for both beginners and those who have been dancing for a while. The class is limited to 16 students to ensure individual attention and a friendly atmosphere.

For those interested in the American Tribal Style (ATS), Desert Flame Belly Dance – Alexandra offers a dedicated class. ATS was created in the USA and combines Middle Eastern, Spanish, and Indian dance styles. In this unique improvisational style, dancers follow cues from the leader, allowing for spontaneity and freedom of expression. Alexandra teaches this style through a combination of choreography and improvisation, making it accessible to those comfortable with basic bellydance movements.

To reserve a spot in any of the classes, students can pay $30 in cash or via netbank as a deposit and notify Alexandra through text or email. Casual classes are also available for $20 per class, depending on availability. Students should bring water and wear loose and comfortable clothing suitable for dancing. Alexandra provides hip scarves for students to wear during class.
