Demeric School of Dance

Demeric School of Dance, located in Farnham, is a well-established dance school that has been operating since 1961. The school offers a wide range of dance classes for all ages and abilities, including the Cecchetti method of ISTD Classical Ballet, ISTD Modern, ISTD Tap, Acro, Street Dance, and Contemporary.

Classes are held six days a week at various locations in Farnham, including the Dance Studios in the Farnham Maltings, St Joan's Centre, Farnham Methodist Church Hall, St Polycarp's Catholic School, and Rowledge Village Hall. Children's classes are available for children aged 2 years and up, ranging from beginner levels to advanced students. Adult Tap and Ballet classes are also offered, catering to adults who wish to pursue dance as a hobby or for fitness purposes.

Led by principal Aurelia Whitfield, The Demeric School of Dance takes pride in providing quality dance instruction and promoting a positive and enjoyable learning environment. Aurelia took over the school in 2002, alongside former pupil Emma Wise, and has continued to lead the school since Emma's departure in 2013. In 2022, Rowledge & Camesdale practises became part of the Demeric School, following the retirement of Miss Maureen Almond, the founder of the Almond School of Dance.

With its 60th anniversary approaching, The Demeric School of Dance has been a pillar of the Farnham community, nurturing generations of dancers and promoting the physical and mental well-being of its students. Dance not only provides physical exercise but also improves posture, coordination, agility, and flexibility. It also boosts confidence in physical abilities and enhances social skills.
