Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts is a renowned dance school located in Uckfield, New Zealand. With a history dating back to 1989, the school offers professional training in the performing arts, specialising in dance, drama, and singing. Having completed 32 successful years, Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts is proud to have nurtured many talented students in these disciplines.
Catering to students as young as 3 years old, the school follows the ISTD and RAD dance syllabi for grade and major examinations. Additionally, students also study the LAMDA and Guildhall Syllabi for speech, mime, and drama. The school takes great pride in the achievements of its past students who have secured placements at various prestigious institutions such as the Britts College, Arts Educational School, Italia Conti School, and more.
The students of Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts have had the privilege of performing in well-known musicals and pantomimes not only in regional theatres but also on prominent stages such as Her Majesty's Theatre and Sadler's Wells Theatre. Moreover, they have had the opportunity to showcase their talents internationally in celebrations in Quickborn, Germany, Disneyland Paris, and on a Mediterranean cruise with MSCC.

Classes at Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts are held at Ridgewood Village Hall and The Foresters Hall in Uckfield. The school offers a variety of dance and musical theatre classes for all ages, promoting a sense of poise, enjoyment, and achievement at every level. Children as young as three years old can participate in the Creative Movement & Dance class, which teaches basic rhythm, timing, coordination, and dance techniques in a fun-filled and imaginative manner.
In addition to regular weekly classes, Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts organises master classes and workshops with professionals, teachers, choreographers, and performers. These classes expose students to different styles and techniques, enriching their artistic development. The school also offers a summer course during school holidays, incorporating musical theatre, jazz, contemporary dance, singing, mime, and drama. This intensive course culminates in a complete production, such as “The Wizard of Oz” or “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.
One highlight of Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts is the Choreographic Competition, which allows young dancers to create their own solo, duet, and group dances. These original dances are then adjudicated by an independent professional from the world of dance. Each competitor receives a certificate of participation, and winners of each section are awarded shields or plaques.
