Drama classes at DFTS follow the LAMDA syllabus and are open to students of all levels. These classes help develop excellent social skills, improve conversational ability, and boost self-esteem. Ballet classes, following the ISTD syllabus, are considered the foundation of all dance disciplines. Jazz classes, while similar to tap dance, focus on a commercial style of dance. Singing classes at DFTS are designed for boys and girls who want to improve their vocal technique and develop their singing voices. Students will engage in warm-up and breathing exercises, exploring a variety of sounds and styles to achieve their best potential as singers.
For preschool children, DFTS offers Melody Bear pre-school classes. These classes provide a safe and appropriate environment for children to learn the basic steps of ballet, tap, music, and movement. Since its establishment in September 1997, the Debbie Fyffe Theatre School has become one of the leading theatre schools in the area. Formerly known as The Patricia Hammond School of Dramatic Art, Debbie Fyffe took over ownership of the school and enhanced its growth. The school has a strong record of exam successes in both drama and dance.
Students at DFTS have numerous opportunities to participate in school productions, competitions, courses, as well as audition for professional and amateur shows, commercials, television work, films, and plays.
