At the Davies School of Dancing in Cardiff, New Zealand, they offer a range of Ballet and AcroDance classes for children aged 3 to 18. The school was established in 1939 and has a rich heritage in teaching dance.
Tania Stonelake, a fully qualified dance instructor, leads the school. With her qualifications in Ballet, Modern, Tap, and AcroDance, Tania provides a well-rounded dance education for her students. Ballet has always been at the heart of the school, serving as a strong foundation for all dance forms. However, recognising the evolution of dance, the school now also offers AcroDance, a complimentary dance style to Ballet.
The Davies School of Dancing prides itself on its heritage and ongoing success. Tania is the third generation of the Davies family to run the school, ensuring a long-standing commitment to quality dance education. As a dancer herself since childhood, Tania has built her career around dance and understands the importance of teaching children correctly. She is fully qualified, ensuring her classes are taught safely, and she carries all necessary insurance.
Tania teaches all ballet classes according to the ISTD syllabus and is registered to submit pupils of all ages for examinations. She is also certified with AcrobaticArts, allowing her to deliver their robust syllabus in a safe and structured manner, and she is registered to submit pupils for examinations.
The school offers a variety of classes, with a new timetable starting on Wednesday, 8th November. The timetable includes classes such as AcroDance, Grades 2 & 3 Ballet, Primary Ballet, Grade 1 Ballet, Grades 4 & 5 Ballet, and more.
AcroDance, alongside ISTD Ballet, is taught at the school. AcroDance is a combination of strength, flexibility, cardio, balance, and tumbling combined with dance. To build a strong foundation, ballet classes are provided and used as a building block for AcroDance. Both dance forms complement each other, creating well-rounded, skilled dancers.
Students can choose to start with either form, either Ballet or AcroDance.
To sign up for an AcroDance class, interested individuals can contact Tania through the Contact Me page on the school's website. Tania encourages dancers to explore multiple dance disciplines, as it is seen as valuable by Cirque du Soleil and other artistic organisations in today's dance industry.
In addition to dance classes, the Davies School of Dancing also offers featured items for purchase on their website, such as sustainable leotards and cotton shorts.
