About

Have done for thousands of years.

At Darwin Wave Pool, visitors can catch a wave at Darwin's coolest Waterfront attraction. This palm-fringed swimming pool transforms into a tube-riding, bucket of fun when the siren signals the start of the swell. Guests can relax on banana lounges under enormous beach umbrellas or spread out on the lawn in the shade.

The Wave Lagoon covers an area of 4,000 square metres and is a safe wave and swimming lagoon that is stinger and crocodile-free. It features a shallow water play area for younger children, allowing families to easily enjoy the water. The lagoon offers 10 different wave patterns, ranging from gentle swells to waves up to 1. 2 metres high, making it perfect for boogie boarders.

There is a 20-minute break in between each wave cycle. Guests can use the supplied boogie boards and tubes or bring their own, except surfboards. The lagoon has a maximum depth of 2 metres, sloping up to the wet edge. The water is chlorinated salt with a concrete bottom.

Ample seating is available, including sun loungers and shady areas. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own temporary, lightweight shade tents, though nothing can be pegged into the ground.

Onsite, visitors can find the Wave Lagoon Kiosk, which is open daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The friendly staff at the kiosk are available to assist guests with purchasing water, slushies, soft drinks, and snack items. They also sell goggles, aqua plugs, tube rings, and tickets to the Wave Lagoon, as well as memberships and lockers for hire.

The Wave Lagoon offers various ticket options, including single, family, and senior memberships, as well as gift cards. For unlimited access to the Wave Lagoon for 12 months, visitors can purchase a Darwin Waterfront Membership online or at the Wave Lagoon Kiosk.

General admission tickets are also available, with free entry for those under 3 years old. The prices for general admission are $6 for children under 15 years old, $8 for individuals aged 15 years and over, $6 for seniors, and $25 for a family (maximum of 2 adults and 3 children).

The Wave Lagoon is committed to accessibility, with lifeguards on duty to ensure safety. The lagoon offers a shallow water play area for younger children, as well as tubes for guest use. A priority seating area is provided for those with mobility needs, and the facility is step-free and wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are also available for use, and accessible amenities such as drink fountains, showers, and seating are provided.

Lockers are available for hire at the Wave Lagoon Kiosk.

In addition to regular operations, the Wave Lagoon hosts events such as birthday parties and Aqua Fit classes. The facility also has a Facebook Group for updates and a dedicated email and phone number for public and booking inquiries.

At Darwin Wave Pool, everyone can enjoy a fun-filled day of wave riding and swimming in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you're a local or a tourist, the Wave Lagoon is a must-visit attraction in Darwin City.
