The Darwin Cycling Club Junior Development Squad is a group of up-and-coming young cyclists who proudly represent the Northern Territory in road and track events. They have showcased their skills at prestigious competitions including the National Junior Track Series, SA Junior State Track Championships, NT Titles, Nationals Track & Road, and Tasmanian Christmas Carnival. Not only that, but these talented juniors also love participating in various Darwin Cycling Club Events.
To ensure their ongoing success, the squad holds two main weekly training sessions. On Tuesdays at 5pm, you'll find them tearing up the Bagot Park Velodrome on Old McMillians for some thrilling track cycling action. Then, on Thursdays at 5.30pm, they gather at the Hidden Valley Race Track for an exhilarating criterium cycling session. Keep an eye on the Hidden Valley Criterium Training page for the exact dates of these training sessions.
Whether you're a budding junior cyclist or an experienced rider, you're more than welcome to join these training rides. Just remember, a Lifestyle membership is the minimum requirement for participation in the training sessions. If you're curious about membership details, head over to the Membership info page or simply visit the club's website.
In an effort to make cycling more accessible to young enthusiasts, the club also takes part in the NT Government Sports Voucher Scheme. This fantastic initiative grants a $100 voucher to every school-enrolled child between preschool and year 12. These vouchers can be used for junior membership or even for purchasing Darwin Cycling Club kit. However, please note that joining the club using the NT Government Sports Voucher Scheme involves a manual process. Interested individuals will need to download and print the AusCycling Sports Voucher Membership Application Form. Once the form is completed and the child's sports voucher is attached, it should be submitted via email to the specified address. The club will then process the form in collaboration with AusCycling, and the membership card will be sent to the provided address.
Furthermore, the Darwin Cycling Club Juniors are actively seeking sponsorship from individuals and local businesses within our community. We greatly value the support and generosity of our sponsors and offer different levels of sponsorship, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze. If you're interested in contributing or becoming a sponsor, please feel free to contact the club directly or send your tax-deductible donations to the Australian Sports Foundation, who graciously accept donations on our behalf.
