Dart Totnes Rowing Club (DTARC) is a rowing and sports club located in Totnes, New Zealand. Nestled on the banks of the picturesque River Dart, DTARC offers a range of rowing opportunities for both amateur and experienced rowers.
The club boasts an extensive fleet of fine boats, including single sculls, doubles, pairs, quads, fours, and eights, providing members with a diverse selection to suit their preferences and skill levels. With over 35 boats available for Club members' use and racking for over 40 private boats, DTARC is one of the best equipped clubs in the South West.
In addition to its impressive boat collection, DTARC features top-notch facilities to support rowers in their training and recreation. The clubhouse houses an ergo room with more than 20 Concept Two rowers, a range of spinning bikes, a weights area, and spacious changing and showering facilities. The boathouse, built in 1985, is conveniently situated on Steamer Quay, just steps away from the River Dart.
DTARC primarily trains on the upper reaches of the Dart, which provides excellent training water. While tides may affect boating from the slipway or steps, local weather conditions are typically conducive to rowing. The club actively competes in WEARA, National, and International events, with almost 100 Juniors and 200 Adult members participating.
As a community-oriented club, DTARC welcomes rowers of all skill levels, from seasoned veterans to novice enthusiasts. Whether you are looking to join or want to inquire about membership details, the Joining tab on our website provides more information. Additionally, you can always contact us via phone or email using the provided details.
DTARC takes pride in its history of hosting prestigious events, including the Totnes & Bridgetown Royal Regatta. This highly anticipated annual regatta spans two days and showcases the talent and dedication of rowers from all over. The championship regatta runs on a 1000m course, all visible from the bank, while the Sprint regatta, introduced in 2014, offers a shorter 500m course. Previous years' results can be viewed on our website.
For those interested in supporting DTARC's mission and endeavours, the club welcomes any generous contributions. Your support will help sustain the club's operations and enable the continued growth and development of rowing in Totnes.
