The Dargaville Production Stockcar Club has a rich history, tracing its roots back to its formation in 1977. Originally based in Te Kopuru, the club moved to its current location at Awakino Point in Dargaville in the same year. The track has seen significant changes and improvements over the years, transforming from a swampy paddock surrounded by maize fields into a 400-metre long clay oval with wide corners and straights. Despite facing challenges in the past, the club remains dedicated to providing exciting racing opportunities for both members and visitors from different tracks.
Camping spaces are available at the track, and there is plenty of accommodation nearby for those coming from out of town.
The Dargaville Production Stockcar Club welcomes both seasoned competitors and new racers to join in on the excitement. With a commitment to providing a family-friendly environment and high-quality racing, the club continues to be a beloved fixture in the Dargaville racing community.
