Dance Street | Bundoora & Lalor is a prominent dance school located in Bundoora, Melbourne, Australia. Our mission is to provide a fun, safe, and family-friendly environment where students of all ages can enjoy the art of dance and singing.
At Dance Street, we prioritise fun and believe that dancing should be an enjoyable experience for all. Our non-pressured atmosphere encourages students to express themselves creatively, fostering a love for dance that will last a lifetime. We aim to create a nurturing environment that promotes respect for both students and teachers, ensuring that everyone feels supported throughout their dance journey.
Fitness is an integral part of our dance programme. We understand the importance of staying physically active, and dancing offers a fantastic cardio workout. In addition to improving fitness and coordination, dance helps to maintain a healthy weight and contributes to overall well-being. Research shows that children and teenagers who participate in dance activities often demonstrate increased focus, confidence, and perform better academically.
At Dance Street, we emphasise proper technique because we believe it is crucial for both performance and injury prevention. Our highly qualified instructors, with over 30 years of teaching expertise, are committed to teaching students core body strength, beautiful posture, and a deep understanding of dance. With our focus on technique, we aim to develop well-rounded and skilled dancers.
Our team of dedicated instructors is passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for dance with our students. Led by Rachel Dunne Fuga, our director, each instructor brings their unique expertise to their classes. Clancy McInerney manages our Lalor studio and is also a dance instructor and troupe coach. Emily Jackson is a dance instructor and vocal coach, while Brooke Chugg specialises in dance and performing arts instruction and is a troupe coach.
Jamaal Djajamihardja is a dance instructor who focuses on skills and tricks coaching. Bridie Clark is our musical theatre and ballet instructor, and Lochlan Erard is a dance instructor and drama coach. Selena Konidaris, Sarah Ceraso, Danakeli Perry, and Alex Arrowsmith complete our team with their diverse dance backgrounds and expertise.
