Dance4Water London is a salsa class in London that aims to combine the joy of dance with the opportunity to make a difference in the world. All profits from their classes are donated to WaterAid, a charity that provides clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education to the world's poorest communities.
The classes are held every Monday at Lancaster Hall Hotel in London, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. They offer Cuban Salsa and Cuban Folklore classes, including Rueda de Casino, where multiple couples dance together in a circle, and Cuban Partner Work, which focuses on partner dancing.
Dance4Water London welcomes dancers of all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced dancers. Registration is not required, and participants can simply turn up and pay for the class. However, if participants provide their email, they will receive notifications about any last-minute cancellations.
There is no dress code for the classes, and participants are encouraged to wear whatever makes them comfortable. Special dance shoes are not necessary; all that is required is enthusiasm and energy. Throughout the class, participants will change partners regularly, providing ample opportunities to dance and meet different people. Teaching assistants are available to help out during the classes.
For those interested in attending multiple classes, Dance4Water London offers different pricing options. Participants can attend a single class for 10, or two classes in one evening for 15. They also offer a 10-evening pass, which allows participants to attend two classes per evening over a 10-week period.
Dance4Water London is part of the international social enterprise, 4Water, which is run entirely by volunteers. In addition to salsa classes, 4Water also offers other skill-based classes and organises events to raise funds for WaterAid.
