Watford Cycle Hub is excited to announce their support for an introductory Cyclocross course. This thrilling cycling discipline, also known as ‘CX’, ‘cyclo-X’, or ‘cross’, will take place at Watford King George V Playing Fields. And the best part? It's only £12 for six sessions, which means you pay just £2 per session!
The main aim of this course is to encourage Women and Girls to participate in Cyclocross. This exciting discipline involves riders taking on various terrains and obstacles over a short, and sometimes muddy, circuit. Riders will need to quickly dismount and carry their bikes while tackling the obstacles and then swiftly remount to continue along the circuit. Therefore, each 75-minute session will focus on developing new sets of skills and techniques.
If that's not enough motivation, there's also the opportunity to use your new-found skills in British Cycling’s Central Region’s Summer Cyclocross Series, which will be announced soon!
Cyclocross is known for its fast-paced and tough nature, with participants constantly jumping on and off their bikes to deal with obstacles. Sometimes, the only way forward is to carry the bike! So, if you're ready for an adrenaline-filled experience, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
The initial course will take place on Tuesday evenings at the King George V Playing Fields in West Watford. It's open to Women and Girls of all ages, and if you don't have a bike, don't worry! We can even support you with bike hire for just £5 per session.
In response to popular demand, we've also added a 5-session option for those who were unable to make the initial session or simply had the “now I've seen it, I want to do it” moment. This option starts on Tuesday 9th May, so make sure to book your spot soon!
Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to try Cyclocross and join the cycling fun. Sign up now and get ready to challenge yourself on the muddy and exciting course at Watford King George V Playing Fields!
