Crystal Palace Bowmen

Welcome to Crystal Palace Bowmen, a friendly archery club located in Beckenham, Bromley. Since 1970, our club has been fortunate enough to utilise the grounds of the Old Dunstonian's Club to pursue our passion for archery. Whether you're a seasoned archer or looking to try out the sport for the first time, we invite you to join us and become part of our close-knit community.

As a club, we cater to archers of all styles, including recurve, longbow, and compound. We take pride in our diverse membership and strive to create an environment that fosters growth and improvement. To support our members, we have three dedicated coaches who are always available to provide guidance and help archers refine their skills.

Crystal Palace Bowmen is affiliated with ArcheryGB (also known as GNAS - the Grand National Archery Society), the Kent Archery Association, and the Southern Counties Archery Society. These affiliations allow our members to participate in various tournaments and events throughout the year, providing opportunities for individuals to showcase their talents and compete on both a local and national level.

Our club meets every Sunday, weather permitting, and on most Tuesdays and some Thursday evenings during the summer months. Additionally, members have the flexibility to shoot during the week, ensuring that archers can practise at their convenience. We also have a WhatsApp group to facilitate communication among our members, making it easier to arrange shooting sessions and coordinate with keyholders.

One of the highlights of our club is our annual tournament, which is held with UK Record Status and Rose Awards. In 2024, we will be celebrating our 50th tournament, a significant milestone for our club. The event will take place at The Old Dunstonian's Sports Club and feature rounds such as York, Hereford, and Bristol 1 to 5. To enhance the tournament experience, we will be utilising Ianseo electronic scoring, eliminating the need for running slips, and using TenZone layered foam targets.
