About

Gold Coast Rugby Union Football Club is thrilled to announce The Crushers on Tour, a rugby tour to New Zealand set for 2024. Coach Shane Ramsay will lead a group of 20 players, two coaches, a manager, and two parent helpers on this exciting adventure to the North Island of New Zealand, visiting Wellington, Rotorua, and Auckland.

The decision to head to New Zealand was made by the team in 2023, and the players are buzzing with anticipation for the challenge ahead. The itinerary is packed with not only rugby matches but also cultural experiences like a traditional hangi feast and Māori concert in Rotorua, a visit to the NZ Rugby museum, and getting a taste of the All Blacks experience in Auckland.

A special moment on the tour will be the visit to Eden Park, where the team will get the chance to explore the venue and walk along the field. For many players, this tour holds extra significance as they have family ties or personal heritage in New Zealand, adding an extra layer of excitement to the journey.

To make this dream tour a reality, the club has been organising various fundraising activities such as meat raffles, car washes, and online raffles. While these efforts have been fruitful, additional sponsorships are needed to help cover the significant costs involved in the tour.

The Crushers on Tour is not just about the rugby games; it's about creating lasting memories and strengthening the team spirit for future seasons. Gold Coast Rugby Union Football Club invites all supporters to get involved and help make this tour an unforgettable experience for the players.
