About
Croydon Women's Football Club, formerly Bromley Borough founded in 1991, has a storied past. By 1994, they rebranded as Croydon Women's FC and quickly became top contenders in England, boasting league and Women's FA Cup doubles in 1996 and 2000, and an undefeated season in 1999. Although they disbanded in 2000, legends like Hope Powell and England Internationals Debbie Bampton, Pauline Cope, and Brenda Sempare emerged from this era, earning spots in The English Football Hall of Fame.
Fast forward to 2019, and Croydon was back with an under 18's team in the Surrey County Women and Girl's League. By 2020, they stepped up to an open age team in the Greater London Women's League and now, with some swift promotions, they’re competing weekly in the South East Counties Women's Football League.
Oh, and don’t forget their thrilling FA Cup run – the first in 23 years! You can follow Croydon's journey and cheer them on through their website and social media.
Croydon Women's FC, known as the Trams, is all set for another exciting season, continuing their legacy and being a beacon for talented female footballers in Croydon.
