Tom, the organiser of the Crane Fist Kung Fu club in Bewdley, invites the sports community to join him in exploring this unique martial art. The White Crane Fist Kung Fu, developed through deep research and experimentation, embodies the agility, grace, and precision of the crane to outmaneuver stronger opponents.
During the mid-Ching dynasty, the Bong family, known for their lineage of Pak Hok masters, refined this art into the Hok Koon system. They aimed to perfect the style by condensing its movements, harnessing internal energy, and fostering a balanced state of mind and body.
Tom's club, based at Trimpley Village Hall on School Lane, continues this rich tradition. Classes are held every Sunday, starting at 10am for children and from 11am to 1pm for adults, who can opt to train for the full three hours at no additional cost.
Crane Fist Kung Fu welcomes students of all ages and abilities. Whether you're a beginner keen on learning self-defence or an experienced martial artist looking to hone your skills, the club offers a comprehensive syllabus. It covers evasions, strikes, locks, pressure points, and take-downs, all taught by dedicated and experienced instructors in a supportive environment.
While the club teaches a variety of effective techniques, it also emphasises a philosophy of non-aggression. Students are encouraged to practise with respect and integrity, using their skills for self-defence and personal growth.
