Cranbrook & District Angling Club, a friendly fishing club, is located in the heart of the Weald of Kent and offers excellent fishing experiences for all types of anglers. Whether you enjoy carp fishing, match fishing, specimen angling, or simply pleasure angling, the club provides access to a wide variety of fishing lakes and rivers in Kent and Sussex.
Established in 1951, Cranbrook & District Angling Club has grown over the years to become a proud Fishmark Accredited angling club with over 800 members. The club boasts a fantastic choice of fishing lakes and rivers, providing ample opportunities for anglers to explore and enjoy their favourite pastime.
Recent feedback from members highlights the friendly and helpful nature of the club's bailiffs, particularly at Marden and Burnt Wood locations. This positive atmosphere and helpfulness contribute to the overall enjoyable experience of being part of the club.
Cranbrook & District Angling Club strictly operates on a members-only basis, making it an exclusive community for passionate anglers. Day tickets are not available, ensuring that members are given priority access to the fishing locations.
The club places high importance on compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As part of the membership application process, applicants are required to complete a consent form, enabling the lawful processing of their information. Failure to provide this consent will result in the rejection of the application.
Membership fees are set at 130. 00 for adults, inclusive of a workparty levy and a 30 joining fee. Senior citizens can enjoy membership for 70, along with a 15 joining fee. Intermediates aged 16 to 18 are charged 25, while juniors can join for 15 or even free in some cases.
The membership opens at the end of February.
Cranbrook & District Angling Club offers access to a diverse range of waters, with 19 individual lakes and rivers available to members. These include a 160-acre reservoir, three other reservoirs, a large gravel pit, an old estate lake, several farm lakes/ponds, and a stretch of the River Medway. Additionally, the club is a member of the Rother Fishery Association, providing members with access to 12 miles of the River Rother and 6 miles of the Royal Military Canal.
The club's waters are home to a wide variety of fish, offering exciting opportunities for anglers of all skill levels. From carp and grass carp to tench, pike, eels, bream, roach, perch, gudgeon, and chub, Cranbrook & District Angling Club provides a diverse fishing experience. The club is also actively seeking large lakes for lease or purchase, and members are encouraged to contact the club if they know of any available waters.
Public access to the club's waters is strictly prohibited to ensure the exclusivity and security of the fishing locations. All waters are secured with padlocks, and members can access the code on the back of their membership card. The club also organises work parties, and details can be found on their website.
