Welcome to Cramlington Bowling Club, a long-established club located in Ann Welfare, Cramlington, Northumberland. We have a rich history and are passionate about lawn bowls. Our club welcomes both new players and visitors throughout the season, which runs from April to September.
At Cramlington Bowling Club, we have two teams, Cramlington and Klondyke, both of which participate in various leagues and cup competitions. Our Cramlington team takes part in the Knight, Nines, and Clegg Leagues, as well as local leagues such as the Blyth Valley, Crawford Smith, and Parliamentary leagues. Klondyke, on the other hand, is involved in the Blyth Valley and Crawford Smith Leagues.
Many of our members are seasoned bowlers, with several playing at county level. Over the years, our members have had great success in county competitions and have gone on to represent the county in National Finals. We also organise numerous club competitions throughout the season, catering to bowlers of all levels. These competitions are well contested and provide great opportunities for members to showcase their skills.
In addition to league games and club competitions, we run a popular twice-weekly open jumbles competition. This competition is open to both members and non-bowlers. Non-bowlers are invited to come along and participate, with coaching and bowls provided free of charge for those wanting to learn. We also organise a members-only jumble at the beginning and end of the season.
In August, we hold the Cramlington Open, which attracts teams from far and wide for a full day of bowling, with refreshments available.
Throughout the year, we also arrange friendly games against neighbouring clubs, providing an opportunity for members to socialise and compete in a relaxed setting. These friendly games help foster camaraderie and sportsmanship among our members.
