About
Come and join the County Bowling Club in Southampton! With over 130 years of history, this club founded by Edwin Jones and friends has something for everyone.
From mid-April to mid-September, members can enjoy competitive matches against teams across Southampton and Hampshire. There are mixed leagues and competitions too, perfect for honing your skills and making new mates.
Friendly games are hosted throughout summer on Wednesdays and weekends, giving everyone a chance to play and socialise with local and visiting clubs. Even in the off-season, there are indoor games at nearby clubs to keep the practice going.
New to bowling? No problem! The club has annual Open Days where experienced members provide an intro to the game, plus regular Roll-Ups on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings for beginners and pros alike.
But it's not all about the bowling. The County Bowling Club organises social events like quizzes, skittles, camel racing nights, and even an annual Christmas party. They also plan fun bowling holidays, like the ones they’ve had in Ilfracombe.
The club’s charming pavilion, established in 1889, offers a lovely spot to relax with a patio area and covered seating. It’s a great place to unwind after a good game.
So whether you're a seasoned bowler or just looking to start, you’ll find a welcoming community at the County Bowling Club in Southampton. Come and be a part of it!
