Join Simon and the gang at Cottingham Bowling Club, just down at 289 New Village Road. It’s a cracking place for both social and competitive lawn bowling. They’re part of the Humberside Bowling Association, so you’ll get plenty of chances to bowl in summer and even play a bit of indoor carpet bowling in winter. 🎳
Simon’s got you covered, no matter your experience. Newbies and pros, everyone’s welcome. Plus, the clubhouse is wheelchair-friendly. 🦽 Membership is £100 a year, and you can now pay by bank transfer. Dress code? Keep it casual for social bowling but club tops and grey bottoms for comps. Your first club shirt is on them when you join!
Outdoor greens are open daily from 10am (from April to September), except Mondays when it’s from noon due to maintenance. For those looking to social bowl, be there by 1:45pm.
Indoor bowling happens in the clubhouse - two mats in winter and one in the summer. It’s £20 for winter indoor bowling with a £1 fee per session.
Thanks to a group of fab volunteers, Cottingham’s greens are top-notch. Volunteers always welcome! 🌱 The club’s got something every day, with friendly roll-ups from 2-4pm (except Sundays) and various comps and league matches all summer long. They’ve also got one-day and season-long internal club competitions, plus friendly fixtures with other clubs.
The ladies at Cottingham are super active, organising coffee mornings, social evenings, and participating in both ladies-only and mixed leagues with great success. ☕️
