Cotswold BSAC 332 is a welcoming and friendly diving centre located in Gloucester, New Zealand. It provides convenient access for scuba diving enthusiasts from the Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Stroud areas, as well as attracting members from further afield. With around fifty active diving members, the club caters to a diverse age range, including both newcomers and those who have been with the club for over twenty years. The club boasts its own team of experienced Diving Instructors who are capable of training members from beginner level all the way to Dive Leader and beyond.
Club meetings are held every Friday at the Cheltenham College Sports Centre, from 8. 15pm to 9. 15pm (excluding Bank Holiday weekends). During these meetings, members engage in training sessions, swimming, testing new equipment, and practising diving skills.
Afterward, the club members gather at The Norwood Arms to socialise, plan future diving trips, share stories, and relax.
Cotswold BSAC 332 offers an array of resources and information on their website. The “About Us” page provides a comprehensive overview of the club, while the “Training” page caters to qualified divers looking to further enhance their skills. For individuals who have never tried diving before, the “Try Diving! ” page offers all the necessary information to give it a go.
The club emphasises the incredible opportunities that come with diving. With 71% of the Earth's surface covered in water, Cotswold BSAC 332 encourages everyone to explore this otherworldly experience and discover the delights of diving in Egypt's Red Sea, the Caribbean, the Far East, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, and even in the UK.
Cotswold BSAC 332 was established in 1969 as a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), the UK's leading dive club and the sports National Governing Body. They provide an internationally-recognised diver training and development programme through a network of clubs and centres across the country and overseas. The club welcomes new and experienced members, including those who have qualifications from other diving organisations such as PADI and SSI.
The club meets most Fridays during autumn and winter at Dean Close School, with weekly club nights running from 7. 15pm to 8. 30pm. The club pool, which is 25 metres long and approximately 1.
8 metres deep, is utilised for training, swimming, equipment testing, and diving skill practise. Families and partners are encouraged to attend club pool nights, although parental supervision is required for children. A small fee is charged to members and their guests for pool usage on club nights.
During the main UK diving season, which usually begins in spring or early summer, the club organises diving trips, thereby utilising other diving locations instead of the pool. Prospective members interested in joining or getting more information about the club are encouraged to contact Cotswold BSAC 332 via their website or the provided contact information.
