Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association invites you to join in on the fun at the Club Unity Challenge taking place at Pallarenda Beach, Townsville. This event is the perfect opportunity for paddlers of all ages to showcase their skills in a thrilling 500-meter dash competition.
The Club Unity Challenge is not your average race - it's a relay-style event that encourages club unity by pairing juniors with their senior teammates. It's all about fostering team spirit and healthy competition. Participants will tackle a challenging 1.5km course in an anticlockwise triangle, with the race both starting and finishing right on the picturesque beach.
To keep things fair and exciting, each team must be made up of members from the same club. Seniors are limited to one leg, while juniors over 16 can also only paddle one leg. After completing their leg, paddlers will dash 10m to tag the next team member and keep the momentum going.
At the end of the day, the top three teams will receive well-deserved medals, and there's also some prize money up for grabs in a lucky draw format. This is an event you won't want to miss - it's all about inclusivity, excitement, and bringing the paddling community together. See you there!
