Welcome to the website of cole dArts Martiaux Chisaii Maru! The martial arts school is gearing up for the Winter 2019 session. The schedule of classes includes Aikido/Aikijujitsu on Mondays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Kobudo on Tuesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Aikijujitsu and Kobudo on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Classes are held at various locations in Longueuil, including the Centre Multi Sports Saint Basile le Grand and Sports pour tous.
But what does Chisaii Maru mean? This Japanese name translates to “small circle,” encapsulating the essence of the martial arts school's focus on achieving maximum efficiency with minimal effort through small circular movements. The traditions and teachings of the school are drawn directly from the lineage of the last samurais of the Takeda clan, who practised various martial arts disciplines such as Aikijujitsu and Kobudo.
In 2006, Sensei Andr Boudreau, along with one of his oldest students, ric Bernier, founded cole dArts Martiaux Chisaii Maru to teach Aikijujitsu and Kobudo. Sensei Boudreau now concentrates on teaching primarily Aikijujitsu and Karate, while Sensei Bernier focuses on Kobudo. The school places a strong emphasis on the discipline of martial arts as a means of self-defence rather than combat.
The school offers classes at multiple locations, mainly on the south shore of Montreal, and in a variety of forms.
