The pond is home to a variety of fish species, including Mirror & Common Carp, Tench, Crucians, F1's, and Rudd, with sizes ranging from 2 to 10 pounds. Anglers can choose from a selection of techniques, such as the waggler, pole, or method feeder, and can fish from wooden platforms or wood-chipped swims.
Operating hours at Greenhill Fishery are from 8am to 7pm, or 30 minutes prior to dusk, whichever occurs earlier. Before commencing their fishing adventure, all visitors must check-in at the fishery office. Conveniently located just 200 meters across a flat grass field, the pond provides easy accessibility for all anglers. Adult fishing sessions are available for either 4 hours at £6.50 or all-day sessions at £11.00. During winter (Nov-Feb), the prices for adult sessions are £9.00. Under 18s are welcome to fish, provided they are accompanied by an adult. The rates for under 18s are £5.00 for a 4-hour session and £7.50 for an all-day session. For winter, under 18s can fish for £5.00.
At Greenhill Fishery, tackle hire is an option, priced at £15.00 with a £20.00 deposit. Additionally, bait and tackle are available for purchase. For the coarse pond, it is recommended to use a mid-weight feeder or float rod with a 1.5lb test curve, coupled with 8lb line, a crystal waggler or flat bottom method feeder, and a size 12 barbless hook. Bait options include corn, pellet, wafter, and bread, offering anglers an array of choices.
Ensuring a safe and enjoyable fishing experience for all, Greenhill Fishery has implemented a few rules to abide by. Anglers must utilise the landing nets provided by the fishery and are limited to using barbless hooks in sizes 10-14. Each angler may only use one rod, and it is crucial to remove all litter from the premises. The fishing policy strictly adheres to catch and release, with keepnets prohibited. Bubble floats, fixed or bolt rigs are not permitted, and leads and feeders must be able to eject. Additionally, BBQs and fires are strictly prohibited. The minimum age for fishing is 8 years old, and anglers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors are kindly requested to park their vehicles only in designated areas.
