The Mountain Green Archery Club Indoor Range in Auckland is excited to promote their upcoming local Archery event! Archery enthusiasts, this is your chance to showcase your skills and have a great time while doing it.
Every Saturday afternoon, the club holds a Club shoot at Owairaka Domain. What's great is that this shoot is open to all club members, regardless of their ability level. So whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, you're more than welcome to join in. The range is always open and available for members to practice and sharpen their archery skills.
Now let's talk about the Advancement Program and the Achievement Program offered by the club. The Advancement Program follows the World Archery Beginners Awards Program, helping archers progress from the White Arrow to the WA Arrows. On the first Saturday of each month, a coaching session is held to teach the necessary skills and techniques for the next Arrow. This is followed by an Assessment session to gauge each archer's progress.
If you're looking for a monthly shoot that focuses on skill improvement and meeting other club members, then the MGAC Achievement Round is just what you need. It takes place during the 1PM Club Shoot on the last Saturday of the month. Archers start at a comfortable distance and gradually move on to farther distances as they meet the achievement ribbon score. It's a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and push your limits.
Now, let's talk about the big one – the Archery NZ Interclub Challenge. This national competition allows archers from different clubs to form teams of three and compete against each other. The competition runs from October to March during summer. It's a chance to experience the thrill of competitive shooting at various distances. Mountain Green Archery Club is proud to have three teams participating in this exciting challenge. Each month, the top nine scores from the shoot are submitted.
Last but not least, we have the ADAA 600 Round organised by the Auckland District Archery Association (ADAA). This monthly shoot is open to members from any club and is held in an Auckland-based target club. Archers will be aiming for a score of 600 out of 900 by shooting 90 arrows at 30 meters. It's a great opportunity to connect with archers from other clubs and earn ribbons for achieving that coveted score.
For specific dates and more information about these events, please refer to the club calendar and the Archery NZ website. Grab your bows, join the Mountain Green Archery Club, and let the arrows fly!
