During the summer months, Halifax Canoe Club offers a range of coaching sessions on the river in Sowerby Bridge. These sessions are open to all club members, regardless of their skill level. Led by the club's BC qualified coaches, participants can expect to develop their paddling skills and work towards different awards.
For our junior members, there are dedicated groups where they can gain valuable experience in various forms of canoeing. Whether they want to learn new skills or work towards achieving the PaddlePower and other awards, our junior groups offer a supportive and fun environment for growth. We also encourage families to join and participate in canoeing together, fostering shared experiences and creating lasting memories.
Experienced paddlers at Halifax Canoe Club enjoy exploring the challenges of our white water facility, finding excitement in the various drops of the course. We also encourage members to try different canoeing disciplines and take part in local competitions. When the winter months arrive, Halifax Canoe Club shifts its activities indoors. We hold pool sessions for both juniors and adults at a local swimming pool. Beginners can use these sessions as an opportunity to learn the basics of canoeing, while experienced paddlers can refine their skills, including the elusive Eskimo rolls. Our warm water pool sessions provide a comfortable and controlled environment for practising and improving.
However, winter doesn't slow us down! Throughout this season, the club remains active on most weekends. Whether we're paddling at our club or embarking on exciting trips to rivers across the country, there's always an adventure waiting.
