Hurstpierpoint Gymnastics Club is thrilled to announce the Annual Club Championships happening on Saturday, July 6th. This exciting event will showcase Floor Solos, Floor Pairs, and Vault Competitions. Participants will have the chance to display their skills and compete before 12.20, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the St. Lawrence Fair day festivities in the village.
Parents are welcome to come and support their young gymnasts as they take on the challenge. Juniors (Year 3 and above) and children of all ages are encouraged to join in on the fun. Remember, entries must be arranged by May 24th, so don't wait too long to secure your spot in the competition.
For those looking to fine-tune their routines, there will be optional free practice sessions on June 14th, 21st, and 28th. These sessions will focus on Solo and Pairs routines (excluding vault) from 4 pm to 6 pm. It's a great opportunity to polish your moves before the big day!
When it comes to the competition itself, the rules are pretty straightforward. Vault has two attempts with the best score counting, while the floor routine should include at least ten moves from a provided list in a music sequence. Pairs routine must have at least five moves and three pairs balances, also in a music sequence. Make sure your routines include dance and instrumental music lasting 70-90 seconds.
Don't stress about finding the right music tracks – CDs with suitable music are available for use, or you can bring your own instrumental music. And don't forget, group photos will be taken from May 7th to May 16th. You can purchase these awesome memories for £1 per page the following week.
