

Clowne Town Cricket Club, in Chesterfield, isn't just another cricket club—it's a community. With a legacy stretching back 140 years, it's a cornerstone of sport in North Derbyshire.
Joe Kinsey runs the show here. Clowne Town CC has four senior teams battling it out in the Derbyshire County Cricket League, plus Women's Hardball and Softball teams. There’s also an U19 T20 squad and junior teams for boys and girls from under 9s through under 15s, playing in the North Derbyshire Youth Cricket League.
Whether you’re an old hand at the game or a newbie, Clowne Town CC has a spot for you. They're always on the lookout for players, coaches, scorers, umpires, tea makers, groundskeepers, and committee members.
The club's had some electrifying matches lately. The 3rd XI clinched victory against West Hallam White Rose CC's 2nd XI by 4 wickets. The 1st XI took down Shipley Hall CC's 1st XI by 29 runs.
Upcoming games are set to heat things up. The 1st XI will face Bracebridge Heath CC's 1st XI, while the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th XIs take on Sandiacre Town CC, Buxton CC, and Riddings CC.
Joshua Womble is smashing it with the bat, top scorer for Clowne Town CC with a whopping 1128 runs and a standout individual score of 252* in the 1st XI Division 2 of the 2023 Derbyshire County Cricket League.
The teams at Clowne Town CC range from the 1st XI to the 4th XI, plus age-group squads for under 19, 17, 15, and 13 players.
