The UWL Sports Centre is excited to announce a new fitness event! This event is perfect for anyone looking to challenge themselves and improve their fitness level. Whether you're a seasoned climber or a first-timer, our climbing society welcomes all skill levels.
At our climbing society, we offer a relaxed and no-pressure environment where you can have fun and meet students from various courses and backgrounds. Our main focus is bouldering, which is a form of climbing without the need for ropes or harnesses. This means you can enjoy the thrill of climbing without worrying about heights.
If you're looking to experience the great outdoors, we also offer opportunities to boulder outside. And the highlight of our year is our week-long summer outdoor bouldering trip to Fontainebleau in France. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore new climbing spots while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Our regular climbing sessions take place on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. We meet at Ravenswall near Ravenscourt Park Station in Hammersmith, which is only about 35 minutes away from UWL St. Mary’s Road campus. If you're unsure about how to get there, don't worry! We can arrange for someone to meet you at Freddie's bar at 6 p.m. so you can travel together.
But that's not all! We also organise climbing sessions on other days and at various climbing walls, depending on availability. All the arrangements and updates are shared through our members' Whatsapp group to ensure that you never miss out on a climbing opportunity.
Aside from our regular climbing sessions, we also love to socialise! We have regular socials that include karaoke nights, open mic nights, pub crawls, and film nights. It's a chance to unwind, have a good time, and make new friends who share your passion for climbing.
