The facilities at Cleveland Stables are designed to cater to the needs of horses and riders. The purpose-built 30×60 all-weather arena boasts a specially curated surface mix of lime, beach sand, and rubber. This concoction ensures the arena retains its perfect consistency throughout the year, offering a spongey surface for young horses to learn and a firm yet forgiving surface for horses to jump big tracks. The arena is meticulously maintained and groomed regularly.
It features a complete set of Jump4Joy show jumps, including various fillers, liverpools, pickets, hanging planks, cavelettis, and brightly coloured poles. These jumps are lightweight, making them easy to move and gentle on the horses' legs.
The barn at Cleveland Stables offers top-notch amenities, including three rubber fully lined large boxes filled with AHD shavings and fenced windows inside for a cosy and secure environment. Additionally, there is a spacious feed room with feed bins, a large hay storage room that can accommodate over 200 bales, and a fully lined tack room. The barn also features cover racks, a kitchenette with water and coffee facilities to cater to the needs of riders and staff.
The recently constructed yard block at Cleveland Stables, completed in 2020, is a testament to their commitment to providing exceptional facilities. It comprises four large covered yards enclosed with post and rail fencing and equipped with spacious water troughs filled with AHD shavings. There is also a large truck bay, three crosstie bays with rubber matting, breakaway ties, and wash down facilities. These spaces are utilised for activities such as tacking up, washing horses, and farrier visits.
Additionally, the yard block features two small post and rail flat holding paddocks with shade for the horses' comfort. Similar to the barn, it includes cover racks and a kitchenette with water and coffee facilities. The lime footing surrounding the yard area ensures excellent footing for horses and allows for easy navigation between the yard block, arena, river, and paddocks. It serves as a dry and firm surface, preventing hoof injuries and providing an ideal trotting surface.
Cleveland Stables prides itself on offering a comprehensive equestrian facility that caters to the needs of riders and horses alike. Their attention to detail and dedication to maintaining top-quality facilities make it an exceptional destination for equestrians in Wellington.
