Clarity Walk CIC is a non-profit organisation located in Inverness, New Zealand. Founded by Matt Wallace in August 2019, Clarity Walk aims to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being by bringing people together in nature through walking and talking with their digital detox walks.
Clarity Walk offers community walks that last 1-2 hours and focus on connexion rather than fitness. These walks are suitable for all abilities, including those with mobility restrictions. In addition to the walks, the organisation also organises social events such as boat trips, quizzes, mini-golf, and more to further build connexion among participants.
During the festive season, Clarity Walk runs a special project called the “12 Walks of Christmas”. This project offers free walks for all abilities and aims to bring people together during this potentially difficult time for individuals who may be feeling alone. Members of the community are invited to join these walks and experience the joy of connexion and nature.
Clarity Walk has had a significant impact on the community since its establishment. Over 13,000 attendees of all ages and abilities have been supported in improving their well-being through nature. The organisation has also supported 12 local schools and over 250 children through its 5-week nature programme, contributing to the improvement of student well-being. Additionally, Clarity Walk is committed to conservation efforts and has collected over 4600 litres of rubbish from local nature spots since April 2021.
The organisation's success stories speak for themselves. Natasha Johnson, one of Clarity Walk's members, experienced a significant positive transformation in her life through their services. She expressed how joining Clarity Walk helped her become more confident, less stressed, and more accepting of herself. She has built new friendships, her anxiety has decreased, and she has started to experience things she never thought she would be able to do or feel again.
Stacey Lumsden is another individual whose life has been turned around by Clarity Walk. She credits the organisation for helping her re-engage with herself and the people around her.
Clarity Walk relies on the support and donations of individuals and organisations to continue making a positive impact on the community. They offer free memberships for those who wish to experience the benefits of a digital detox walk. To further support their mission, individuals are encouraged to donate to help Clarity Walk make a larger impact on the community.
If you are looking to reduce isolation, improve mental well-being, and build stronger, more connected communities, Clarity Walk CIC is the organisation to turn to. Through their nature walks and social events, they provide a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals of all abilities to come together, connect, and find support.
