Clare Novaes, the force behind the Clare Novaes School of Dance in Moira, has been inspiring dancers since 1998. Specialising in ballet, Clare’s school offers classes for everyone – kids and adults alike. With over 25 years under her belt, Clare knows how to get folks moving with style and confidence.
Kids aged 3 to 18? They’re covered. Clare focuses on good posture and sticks to the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum. Your little dancers can aim for RAD exams and awards while still having a cracking time with music and creativity. Clare always welcomes new pupils, and her skilled instructors are excited to meet new faces.
Classes run on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Methodist Church on Main Street, Moira. There are also Wednesday sessions at St John's Parish Centre Halls on Main Street, plus new adult classes at The Studio on Legaterriff Road. With different locations and times, there’s something for everyone.
Clare doesn’t just stick to regular classes. She’s got ballet retreat days and weekends that mix classical ballet workshops with beautiful locations and tasty seasonal food. It’s all led by Clare herself, making it a perfect blend of dance and relaxation.
For adults wanting to boost fitness, confidence, and learn a new skill, Clare’s got you sorted with adult ballet classes. They’re low-impact, focused, and great for learners at any age or skill level. No experience? No problem. There are also private lessons for those who prefer a bit of one-on-one.
In 2022, Clare opened The Studio, a serene woodland haven for adult and bespoke dance classes. It’s all about grounding, creativity, and wellness in a calm setting.
